Portable Home For Two People Fits Behind A Tricycle

Apparently RVs are a thing of the past. What’s in store for the future? Portable house meets tricycle. This innovative and environmentally-friendly house was designed by the People’s Architecture Office. Made out of lightweight plastic, it is extremely easy to pull this entire house with a single tricycle. So, not only do you get to travel and park just about anywhere; you also get your exercise!

As you can see in pictures, this portable house on a tricycle can be folded and unfolded. It looks just like your typical RV on the inside; although maybe a bit brighter, cleaner, and simpler. I was completely blown away when I saw it. “How can an entire house be pulled by a bike?” I wondered. The best part is that the home can fit two people inside; and it looks like they can live quite comfortably.

I began thinking about people without homes, or people who have to walk miles and miles to get drinking water, only to carry it all the way back home. Wouldn’t this type of home be great for these people? They could live right by their water source, and move to another location when needed. The only problem is a lot of families would need bigger homes than these. The future does look pretty bright and hopeful though for homeless people or anyone who is looking for a portable, lightweight, small home that allows them to travel and live as modestly as possible.

Inefficient Light Sources Will Soon Be Replaced By Glowing Plants

Since humans are solar beings, basically feeding directly and indirectly from sunlight, they have always tried to replicate sunlight when the sun has set off. Cave men built a fire in the middle of their cave, while a 300-400 years ago, medieval humans used candles to light their way into the dark. Stars weren’t enough to cover people’s need of light, so we’ve invented light bulbs and electricity, Little star looking lights powered by electricity. Still, people feel this need to dispose of a more natural source of light to light their way into the night and this idea is supported by the fact that we love all that is natural and not artificial. This is the reason why Antony Evans has come up with this genius project on Kickstarter with glowing plants.

If these glowing plants remind you of the movie Avatar, then you’re thinking what
I'm thinking. Using synthetic biology, a computer software and a lot of imagination and creativity, Anthony has elaborated these glowing plants in order to replace inefficient light sources during night time. Well, besides being an absolutely awesome idea, who wouldn’t want a basically “natural” source of light when going to bed or working until late at night. And at the same time a superb looking lamp that makes your imagination work and create different world and scenery. These glowing plants really are a way to travel into other imaginary worlds, and think about using them when you lay your head on the pillow trying to sleep. It must look awesome. All USA backers, who back 40$ on Kickstarter will receive around 50 to 100 seeds to grow these glowing plants at home. And yes, they’ve managed way more than asked for, reaching today the whooping sum of $343,510.

We can all agree that this is money well spent, because it covers at least two weak points of the traditional light sources we use today: it is economic and it is natural. Besides, the glowing plants look amazing, as if they are taken from fairy tales and wonderland. These innovative glowing plants will be one of the nearby future’s alternative to inefficient light sources and artificial light sources at the same time.

We all tend to focus our attention towards what is natural and comfortable and go back to our natural state and way of living. This makes wonderful news in the Eco friendly and alternative era that has recently begun, having no weaknesses and down sides to it. We need to thank the individuals who have taken gene manipulation to art work and have managed to put together nature and the human’s need of light to light our way into the future of ecological lighting. What is your opinion on the glowing plants?

How to Fix a Phone Dropped in the Toilet {Infographic}

Hey guys, how are you feeling today? I hope you’re ready for a really informative infographic because today we’re going to approach the awkward but vital topic of toilet accidents. In particular, let’s see what you can do if you accidentally drop your phone in the toilet. Now don’t feel embarrassed, toilet accidents are common. That being said, dropping your phone in the loo can have devastating consequences for your wallet not to mention data loss. Statistics show that happens to an average of one person out of ten so you need to be prepared. But you don’t need to worry, we’ve got you covered. I’ve found an excellent infographic by Betterbathrooms that gives a detailed plan of action about what you can do to minimize damage to your phone if you drop it in the toilet.

All the instructions listed on the infographic revolve around one objective: to eliminate water from inside your phone before it gets a short circuit. Not surprisingly, your first priority is to get it out of the water as soon as you can. Then, if your phone hasn’t turned itself off, turn it off quickly to deactivate most of its circuits. Now comes the tricky part, you need to dry it as quickly as you can. To make sure you expose as many parts of your phone as you can to room temperature. Remove the cards, the battery and the covers. Then gently wipe all the parts dry and finally put them into a bag of uncooked rice and leave it in there for a few days. Rice drains moisture from your phone so it speeds up the drying process. Of course it’s still a good idea to leave your phone in a warm place, such as a radiator before you try and turn it on. If you’ve followed all the steps mentioned on the infographic, you have a pretty good chance that your phone was saved. If not, however, there is still one tiny life hack you can do before you visit the shop.

Our loyal followers will remember that we’ve already covered this topic about six months ago in a post titled How To Save Your Smartphone After Toilet Accident. In the video below that article, a very clever and invaluable advice is mentioned that I’d like to include here as well. If the phone repair shop finds out that the damage was due to water contact, you’re facing an end of warranty situation. That is, if they find out. The way they check that is by looking at a tiny slip of white material hidden inside your phone that turns red when water makes contact. This material can be either inside the headphone jack or right in the corner behind the battery. So even if your phone has kicked the bucket, you can still take a tiny slip of paper and stick it above the red material that indicates water contact. With some luck, no one will find out about the trick and you’ll have a brand new phone.

According to betterbathrooms.com, 75% of people toilet tweet, read mails and make calls while on the toilet. I think there’s nothing wrong with that seeing as today we’re always short on time. However, it doesn’t hurt to have a plan of action for the worst case scenario; if you accidentally drop your phone in the toilet. Do you have any experiences you could share with us? Please share your opinion and stories in the comments down below.

ChatPerf’s Idea Of 4D Communication: A Smartphone Accessory That Engages Your Sense Of Smell

Hey, everyone, I hope you’re all doing great. Do you like 4D movies? I just love them. I love not only hearing and seeing but also smelling what’s happening around me. And having seen several 4D movies over the past years I think the one functionality I’ve been looking forward to in smartphones was 4D compatibility. Being able to actually smell relevant scents during a movie is a great experience for many people but is that all we can use it for; movies? I think entertainment industry hit the jackpot with 4D movies so video games and other entertainment apps that engage our sense of smell have been around the corner for a while now. Today we’re going to look at the first company to pioneer the concept of 4D communication: ChatPerf and their scent spray accessory for smartphones. Get ready to let scents do the talking.

The way ChatPerf interpreted the idea of 4D communication is really interesting. They developed a small scent spray accessory that is attached just below the handset and can be loaded with tiny perfume bottles. There is also an application that handles receiving and sending scent requests between phones. So for example, let’s say you have a friend who just finished work and is stressed and tired. You can send him a cheer up message accompanied by a relaxing and refreshing scent. Of course he needs to have a scent spray accessory attached to his phone as well as the specific perfume you chose but fortunately you don’t need to concern yourself with these details. The app will take care of checking which scents the recipient currently has loaded as well as whether or not the scent spray accessory is available.

I think that ChatPerf did a really good job in engaging our sense of smell in communication. However, it actually gets better when it comes to entertainment. By Spetember, when the scent spray accessory hits the shelves, ChatPerf will simultaneously release a number of games and social apps that will utilize this technology. Imagine first person shooter games in which each time you pull the trigger you can actually smell gun powder in the air. When it comes to video games, the possibilities are virtually endless. And if all that wasn’t enough, the ChatPerf plans to release an SDK interface that will actually enable you to develop apps and games using their scent spray accessory.

I think it’s safe to say that if you enjoy 4D movies, you’re going to love ChatPerf’s scent spray accessory. 4D communication leverages our sense of smell enabling us to express our thoughts and feelings in a more authentic and impressive way. I would really love to get a love message that smells of roses and I’m sure I’m not the only one. On the other hand games developed for smartphones could offer a whole new level of entertainment and engagement using scents to further pull the player into the game world. So, what do you guys think about ChatPerf’s scent spray accessory? Please share you opinion in the comments below.

Best Way To Make Coffee Without A Coffee Maker {Flowchart}

What do you do when you’re tired, drowsy but you desperately need something done? I don’t know what your answer is going to be but I’m pretty sure you’ll mention coffee. In our modern world where time is money and we’re always in a hurry, we just can’t afford to succumb to fatigue. And your best ally in your fight against drowsiness is a quick fix of caffeine. And while we’re all too used to pushing the button on the coffee maker, sitting back and waiting for it to do the heavy-lifting, have you ever wondered how to make coffee without electricity? The question might sound trivial, almost absurd, but you’d be surprised to find out how many people in the world don’t have electricity, let alone a coffee maker. Tonx compiled a very interesting infographic that takes you on a journey to explore the art of coffee making without technology as we know it.

So put on your McGyver shoes and let’s see how you utilize even the most useless-looking object scattered around the house to brew yourself some delicious coffee. First of all, you need some good quality, fresh roasted coffee and Tonx is more than happy to offer you the best of the best. Once that’s out of the way, you need to grind the coffee beans somehow and this is where it gets messy. But fret not, because if you don’t have a grinder, just ask a large friend of yours to put on his boots, wrap the coffee beans in a bag and have him jump on the beans for a few minutes. The results are guaranteed. If you’ve ground the coffee beans, then you can breath a sigh of relief because the hardest part is over. And don’t be afraid if you don’t have water or any filter lying around the house. Rest assured, Tonx’ flowchart has an answer to your problem.

I think you noticed by now that one of the biggest merits of Tonx’ flowchart is its excellent sense of humor. While the chances of an American household not having access to water are small today, it hasn’t always been like that. The infographic does a great job at depicting how people in the past brewed coffee all around the world. Which goes to show that the company not only offers excellent quality coffee beans but also is deeply knowledgeable about the history of coffee and the rich brewing tradition. That being said, you might just know a way of brewing coffee without a coffee maker that isn’t mentioned on the flowchart. Well, Tonx would be glad if you shared your opinion and personal experience with the rest of the community. It’s not just to have fun but to enrich and nurture the vivid tradition of coffee drinking.

Even if you don’t drink coffee, I’m sure you’ll have your smiling moments skimming through Tonx’ flowchart and trying to brainstorm methods of brewing coffee that weren’t mentioned. I think it’s impressive how rich the tradition of making coffee is when at the end of the day it’s just adding water to the coffee beans, really. For example did you know that in Africa people used to mix coffee berries with fat and eat the resulting brownish energy balls as snacks? The history of coffee is really fascinating. If you know any interesting tidbits about the tradition of making and drinking coffee, please leave us a comment below.

Rapportive: Harness The Power Of Social Media To Up Your Response Rates & Stay Personal

A couple of days ago we wrote an article about a few digital marketer stereotypes titled A Humorous Look At 7 Types Of Digital Marketers. In that article we mentioned how personalizing your email messages can dramatically increase revenue and transaction rates. It’s not hard to see why: no one likes to receive generic, mass-circulated messages. People like it when you reach out to them in a very personalized, customized way that reflects on their individual tastes and preferences. That is all true but how do you personalize an email? So far, including the name of your client in the greeting line was probably the only thing you could do to make your emails sound a bit more personal. However, today we want to share with you a Gmail app called Rapportive, that will turn your emails into highly personalized, relevant, almost intimate messages.

Rapportive taps into the vast database of personal information amassed by social media to provide relevant and personal information about the person you’re writing to. The way the app works is fairly simple. You enter an email address into the "To" field of gmail’s email composer window, and Rapportive will immediately start searching for accounts associated with that email address on social media sites. Then, Rapportive will display all the recent activity of the recipient on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Skype. As a result, you have all the personal data that you could want and then some right next to the message composer window. Cherrypicking some relevant subjects based on recent social media activity of your contact will help you write a personal and friendly email message that will surely set you apart from the crowd of spammers and bot mailers.

The convenience Rapportive offers does not stop at merely being a fountain of personal information pulled from social media sites. Rapportive is also an excellent tool for the seemingly simple task of email address verification. When an email exists, Rapportive starts displaying personal information right away. When Rapportive fails to do that even though you typed in an email address, chances are you either mistyped the email address, or the address doesn’t exist. This feature can be very helpful when you can only vaguely remember an email address. Start typing in different variations of the recipient’s name until Rapportive responds. Once it does, you have just found the valid, existing email address you were looking for.

I think that Rapportive is an app that will have a whole host of benefits for your business. Whether you’re prospecting and want to make a good impression, or you’re launching an email campaign and want excellent response rates, Rapportive will make sure you get what you need. If you haven’t tested Rapportive yet, perhaps it’s time to give it a try. At any rate, please share your thought about the Rapportive in the comments below.

The Mind Subway: An Entrepreneur’s Guide To Success

Happy Monday! I thought it’d be nice to have some food for thought that is useful in bettering ourselves in what we do. Fortunately, Funders and Founders has created an infographic that merits a mention here on Infooomph as it deals with the entrepreneurial mindset. We’ve already written about the 9 Traits Of An Entrepreneur some time ago but this infographic complements the topic perfectly so I wanted to share this one, too. The title of the infographic is "The Mind Subway" and not without a reason: it uses the analogy of a subway to guide us to the right train of thought (forgive the pun) that makes a great entrepreneur. But let’s get to the bottom of it: how can you improve your mindset to invite success into your life?

Well, to be honest the fact that you care to read this post about the entrepreneurial mindset is already proof that you are on the right thought track. As the infographic attests, an entrepreneur focuses on providing value and on becoming smarter to get ahead in life. And the first step to do that is to improve your brain which is your best tool on your journey. That means so far you’re doing great. Self-improvement is not the destination: it’s a means of transport. Entrepreneurs constantly improve themselves to get to their destination. According to the infographic, the destination is to provide value. And to get to your destination quickly, you must keep your vehicle, yourself in a good shape by constantly improving yourself. But if you’ve read this far, you probably don’t need anyone telling you that.

On the other hand, as with every subway, the subway of entrepreneurial mindset also has its fair share of bumps and intersections. One very common pitfall is the "money is evil" thought track that goes to nowhere and can get you there fast. The "money is evil" and "work is a necessity" mind tracks actually go hand in hand and are common roadblocks on the mindmaps of most rookie entrepreneurs. To clear them, think of it this way. If you strive to create value and help others then you’ll enjoy what you do and it will never feel like work again. In addition, the appreciation you get from satisfied clients will be a second currency besides the money you get. And money that satisfied clients give you with a broad grin on their faces is the furthest thing from evil. It’s motivation and reward that will ensure you arrive at your destination.

The thing I love most about this infographic is that it’s very concise. It’s just a small map, and yet it contains all the key thought patterns that make a successful entrepreneur. You could probably read a dozen self-improvement books and come out none the wiser than if you had scanned through this infographic. Once again Funders and Founders succeeded in distilling the essence of thinking like an entrepreneur. But what do you think about this infographic? Please share you opinion and thoughts in the comments down below. I’ll join in the discussion later.
