Our enthusiastic followers will remember that not so long ago we brought you the latest news about a convenient and long-awaited bike accessory, the LED turn light gloves. Here at Infooomph, we are big fans of biking for two main reasons. Bikes offer a lot of opportunities for technological improvements while being a widely preferred vehicle for family outings and an indispensable tool for healthy lifestyle. Therefore today we bring you another bike-related technological innovation that will probably revolutionize biking experience for everyone. We’ll take a look at the innovative bike wheel display system by Monkey Lectric, called Monkey Light Pro.Let’s see how it works exactly.

Monkey Light Pro is a bike wheel display system that can show images or even animations in 4,096 colors on your wheels while you’re riding. The gadget itself is a cross-shaped set of 4 LED bars primarily made of rubber and can be installed on any standard bike wheel. Monkey Light Pro is very durable and
vibration-proof so you don’t have to worry about your speed or the terrain. In fact, it has a built-in stabilizer that produces the good quality and sharp images as long as your speed is anywhere within the range of 10 to 40 mph. The device is also waterproof so it can be used under any weather conditions. And if that wasn’t enough, the battery’s run time is a whopping 8 hours.

Nowadays most accessories or personal mobile devices have a wide range of options to personalize user experience. The team at Monkey Lectric recognized that bikers could also greatly benefit from a unique and very entertaining way of expressing themselves while enjoying a healthy ride. One of the great things about Monkey Light Pro is that it comes with pre-loaded custom animations and images created by 10 different artists. And for the designer souls among you, Monkey Light Pro has a web application where you can actually design your very own, unique animations and have them displayed on your wheels.

Monkey Light Pro is currently nearing the end of the testing phase of its development so the developer team has hit Kickstarter to gather funding for the upcoming mass production. They need $180,000 altogether out of which they’ve already been pledged $107,000. There’s still 53 days remaining, so you have a chance to support the project if you want to see the bike wheel display system hit the shelves as soon as possible. I think Monkey Light Pro is a brilliant bike accessory that will surely attract a lot of new people to biking as well as enhance biking experience for veteran bikers all around the world. The Psychology Behind Where People Stand in Elevators

Standing in an elevator and taking an elevator to get where you need to go probably comes second nature to most people. Elevators are a way to get from one floor to another in the quickest way possible. Elevators provide convenience and ease, but there is a science behind the happenings that occur inside an elevator on any given day. It seems people tend to stand in certain areas of an elevator depending on where they come from, where they are going and their overall personality in general. The question remains, why do people tend to stand in certain areas in an elevator as opposed to other areas.

Well, there is a tried and true psychology for most things, and where people stand in an elevator is no exception. There are statistics and graphs that back up the theories that define the reasons that people stand in certain areas in an elevator as opposed to other areas and it all has to do with psychology. A research study written about the subject on the website Ethnography Matters stated that people stand in mini social hierarchies in an elevator. The study went on to say that the oldest men stand in the back of an elevator, the youngest men stand in the middle towards the front of the elevator, and the women always stand in the very front of the elevator. It’s like clockwork and happens much more frequently than you might imagine. In an NPR interview, it was discovered that people tend to stand in the back of the elevator, the oldest men, did so because they had a clear view of the entire elevator, of all the people. It was like the oldest men were the leaders looking over everyone in the elevator car.

So, next time you ride in an elevator, take a look around you and note what patterns you see and then look upon yourself to see where you tend to stand in an elevator, the answers you come to might really be a surprise or follow the usual statistics stated above.

The History Of Superman {Infographic}

Hello everyone! A little more than one week and Man of Steel will hit the theatres. I don’t know about you guys, but I can’t wait to see it. I’ve been a Superman fan ever since I was a little girl and the one thing I love about Superman is that he keeps changing over the decades to always bring something new and relevant to us. Frankly, I don’t know any other superhero that has went through so many changes over the years. So today let’s take a journey into Superman’s past to discover the many faces of this marvelous superhero. Our map will be a fantastic infographic about the History of Superman created by 8ball.co.uk that you can find below this post.

So who exactly is Superman? Most people don’t realize how much Superman has grown ever since he was conceived, in the 1930s. Back then, believe it or not, he was a villain who would terrorize criminals with no more than three superpowers: he was super fast, he was super strong, and he could super jump. At this stage the story was rejected by over 17 publishers, so the creators changed Superman’s character to be a superhero instead. After that it took another 10 years for the hero to acquire many of his trademark superhero abilities of today, such as flying, x-ray vision and heat vision. When I first read the infographic, I was amazed to see that the Clark Kent I thought I knew was a completely different character at the beginning.

One thing I personally miss from the modern Superman story is the Supergirl of the 1950s. I personally had no idea that a Supergirl ever existed. The number of famous male superheroes far outnumber the female ones so I’d have been very glad to see some more of Supergirl. Unfortunately, she was killed in 1985. Though maybe they will bring her back one day, I mean even Superman died at one point and he was resurrected right away. Maybe there is still hope for Supergirl.

Superman is the kind of superhero who is inherently pure at heart. He is not a genius like Batman, and has no sidekicks like so many other superheroes. He is an idealist who fights for what is right. I think he manifests the wish for justice and peace that is in all of us. Being the untainted person he is, I find him easy to relate to and his presence in our culture has always been a kind of hope for me. I like to think that as long as there is a Superman in the public conscience, nothing irreversibly bad could happen. But what do you guys think about The Man of Steel? Are you looking forward to the latest movie? Please share your thoughts in the comments below.

Arcade Dad’s Basement Empire: A Gamer’s Paradise Straight From The ’80s

If you’re a fan of video games, then chances are you know where it all started. Video games grew out of the noisy, vibrating and flashing den of the ’80s: the arcade. In those days many kids saved all the change they got from their parents for the long-awaited day when they could finally blow it all at the arcade. With just a few quarters you could have a blast trying to as many high scores as you could that day. Now you’re probably thinking it’s no use getting all nostalgic about it, nostalgia won’t bring back the old arcade. However, you’re in for an amazing surprise. Today we’d like to share with you the story of redditer Mertzlufft and his dad, the Arcade Daddy who went out of their way to try and resurrect the old arcade in their basement with all its variety and exciting atmosphere.

Needless to say, Arcade Dad has always been a big fan of the arcade. He’s been collecting vintage arcade games since 1997 and playing them since the ’80s. Ever since then, he’s always dreamed of having his very own arcade at home. However, what started out as a childhood dream became a reality in the past five years. Fueled by his burning passion for the arcade and using his knowledge of electrical engineering and coding, mertzlufft’s dad built an arcade in the basement. And perhaps surprisingly, Arcade dad is not a millionaire. He likes buying broken arcades for ridiculously cheap only to fix them and resell them for more than what they cost. If he finds something he really likes, he keeps it. Of course, over time his collection grew to a formidable size, big enough to populate an arcade. According to mertzlufft, when you do the math the games themselves probably cost less then the signs and stools combined.

As it turns out, Arcade Dad has six kids and as I imagine, they spend most of their time in the basement. I can’t blame them, their father did all he could to resurrect the atmosphere of the ’80s in the basement. He actually programmed one of the media jukeboxes that can play well over 2000 retro music videos in the bar. If you’re wondering how much a slumber party would cost in mertzlufft’s basement, I’ve got good news for you: the family welcomes visitors. If you drop by St. Louis, MO make sure you take a look around the Arcade Dad’s basement and try and beat his high scores.

Here at Infooomph, we’re on the lookout for unordinary dads like Doodle Daddy and Arcade Dad whose hobby is to give something unordinary to their kids after an ordinary day. Mertzlufft’s father did no less than build an arcade in the basement, large enough for all his six children to play in. Let us know if you know about any other superdad who does something unordinary to cheer their kids up after a hard day. Please share your thoughts about Arcade Dad and his basement gaming empire in the comments below.

A French Door Refrigerator That Can Serve Hot Tea Anytime

I hope you’re having a nice long Memorial weekend. However, if it’s not yet perfect, don’t worry. I think I have just what you’re looking for. But let me ask you something first. Do you like sitting back in your armchair and slowly sipping some of your favorite tea? Perhaps make a quick soup and let the hot liquid relax your body after a hard week’s stress. Or maybe you find yourself occasionally enjoying a cup of hot cocoa, like I do. If your answer was true for any of those questions, then you’ll love today’s topic. Staying true to our burning passion for technology, we’d like to introduce you to a french door refrigerator from GE that can make you a cup of hot tea instantly, anytime you wish. So let’s see what GE’s fridge, equipped with a hot water dispenser brings to the table.

First of all, I’m probably not the only one who feels that time spent waiting for the water heater to boil water is time wasted. Fortunately, waiting for the water heater is a thing of the past. Perhaps GE’s multifunctional refrigerator’s strongest point is that it gives you at most 10 ounces of hot water at a time, in the blink of an eye. All you need to do is select the desired temperature of the water and push the button. Yep, it’s that simple; hot water is at your fingertips. There are actually four temperature settings you can select: 185° F for making a quick soup, 170° F for tea, 150° F for cocoa and finally 90° F for warm in general. I find it really cool that on the inside, the fridge keeps all the food cold, even frozen while on the outside it does the exact opposite, it serves steaming hot water. Technology never ceases to amaze me.

However, GE’s french door fridge has an astonishing feature that deserves a special mention here at Infooomph. As you know, we are strong proponents of a healthy lifestyle which besides exercising regularly includes eating a healthy, energizing diet. And believe it or not, GE went out of its way to make sure that the hot water you’re drinking is crystal clean. The dispenser removes 98% of five trace pharmaceuticals from both water and ice so you can rest assured that the water you’re drinking is perfectly healthy. As I’m sure we all agree, health comes first so I’m really happy that GE designed the fridge with health in mind.

GE’s latest french door refrigerator is the first ever to have a hot water dispenser built into it. And while I still can’t make up my mind whether it was a cool or a hot idea, I think you’ll agree that it looks very convenient. I am especially happy for the water filtering feature which is fortunately becoming a buying criteria for more and more people. I’m always glad when I see health-conscious design on the market and GE really went out of its way to cater to the healthy-minded with their fridge. So what do you think about GE’s french door refrigerator? Please share your opinion with us in the comments down below.

A LED Engagement Ring That Glows If There’s Love In The Air

At Infooomph, we love to bring you the latest and most creative ways of conveying your love. Not so long ago we wrote an article about an epic star wars wedding invitation card and since many of you liked that idea, we’d like to continue the tradition. Today we’ll look at a really unique LED engagement ring design that does something really magical: it lights up when only when your loved one is nearby. The resourceful creator of this ring is called Ben Kokes and he designed everything about the ring and actually manufactured it from scratch all by himself. He literally not only dreamt every detail of his project but actually cut and chiseled all the metal parts and assembled all the electric circuits to create a really memorable engagement ring for his loved one. Let’s see how he did that.

On www.kokes.net there is a very detailed explanation on how Ben realized his brilliant idea. In a nutshell, the first challenge Ben had to overcome was making a ring that could tell the difference of whether the couple is together or not. Now that was quite difficult because creating an AI was out of the question so he needed something simple, yet effective to do the job. Eventually, in order to create that unique effect, Ben used a transmitter that the LED lights on the ring could actually react to. Of course he cleverly hid the transmitter under the sleeve of one of his jackets and attached it to an armband so it was invisible to the unsuspecting observer. As a result, if Ben and his fiancée are holding hands, the ring and the transmitter get close enough and the ring starts glowing. But the hard part was yet to come: Ben had to manufacture every part from a titanium bar, a few LED lights, some wires and a copper board.

I think this is where Ben’s determination really showed and probably why his unique engagement ring idea has gone viral on the internet ever since. He not only came up with the cool idea of a ring that lights up when the couple is close to each other but he spent great time and effort to create it from scratch. Most people would stop at the stage of dreaming up the project and throw away the idea because it requires too much work. Ben didn’t give up. He rolled up his sleeves and got down to business. He didn’t fret when he had to learn several skills on the way including AudoCAD, designing and developing a circuit and understanding the nuances of working with titanium. He never once faltered in realizing his dream engagement dream and the result speaks for itself. An LED engagement ring that has not only sealed the love between him and his finacée but traveled around the web and got him a fair number of fans.

Ben’s example goes to show that love can make you do the seemingly impossible. It motivated him to continue working on his project through thin and thick. That the strength of character he showed during designing and manufacturing his perfect engagement ring is surely a sign of a great husband. That being said, he did set the standards quite high for others who want to engage their beloved one in a memorable way with his brilliant idea and genius handicraft. So what do you think about the Ben’s LED ring idea? Please let us know if you know of any cool and unique engagement ring ideas like Ben’s.

The Apostrophe Holtel: Find Your Second Home At This Amazing Boutique Hotel In Paris

Good morning! I hope you’re getting ready for the weekend with plans that involve basking in the sunlight and doing some outdoor exercise. However, let’s not forget that we’ve entered the summer holiday season so most families are also planning ahead to visit abroad together with the kids. So let me give you Infooomph’s holiday recommendation for the summer. Today I’d like to tell you about a hotel that I personally found very memorable and cozy, called Apostrophe Hotel, located in Paris. The name of the place foreshadows the main theme of the design: poems, literature and culture. So if you like literature and stylish, unordinary interiors I think the Apostrophe Hotel will be a love at first sight experience.

It’s been a while since I visited the place but looking around the web I can safely say that the reputation of the hotel has not waned a bit. People generally appreciate the small, cozy atmosphere and the outstanding originality of the design. Everything is decorated with letters, symbols and pieces of art from all around the world. Each room has it’s own design theme based on common themes in literature, such as "humanity," or "lovers." For some people the vivid and dominating design elements can make the room feel small but I personally loved it. In fact I found it really refreshing and enjoyable that sometimes it was hard to tell where a painting ended and where my bed began. The design just flows naturally into the furnishing which creates a really unique experience, almost like being awake in a dream.

Staircases decorated with letters, walls painted with curly lines of poems, paintings of sky on the ceiling that make you want to touch the clouds are in every corner of the hotel. Fortunately it’s not only the design choices that Apostrophe Hotel shines at. The service is also amazing. They help book restaurants in advance and are always very helpful. I loved chatting with them during breakfast which was all the more enjoyable because they speak excellent English. I also loved the bathrooms with jacuzzi and wild rain showers. And one of the great benefits of the hotel is that it’s only 2 minutes away from the metro station so you have easy and quick access to other parts of the city as well.

If you want something original, something different then you have to give Apostrophe Hotel a try. I remember when I first stepped over the porch for a fleeting moment I had a feeling that I’d been there before, perhaps in a previous life. It was probably that deep feeling of familiarity and cozyness that the super helpful staff and the dreamy design created. I’ll surely visit Apostrophe Hotel again as soon as I can. So what are your plans for the summer holidays? And do you have any holiday recommendations based on personal experience? Please let us know about your holiday plans in the comments below.
