Did you know that professional surfer Bethany Hamilton is finally going to have another movie released called “Surf Like A Girl”? That's right, she just recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund production costs and about a week ago, the project was funded with double the amount she asked for. So who is this fantastic girl, right? Some of you may have seen her first movie called Soul Surfer or even seen her breath-taking technical skills live. But for those of you who don't know her story, here's what you need to know.
Bethany Hamilton has been in love with surfing since she was a very young girl. Unfortunately, at the age of 13 she suffered a terrible accident. While she was lying on her surf board with her left hand dangling in the water, she was attacked by a 13 foot tiger shark. She survived the encounter but the price she had to pay was high: she lost her left arm.
Many people said that Bethany would never learn to surf again let alone have the courage to challenge the waves. However, only three weeks after the incident, she returned to surfing and in no time at all learned how to surf with one arm. By now she competes in major tournaments and blows the minds of her audience with her impressive technical surfing skills. If you want to see her in action, stay tuned for the first movie of “Surf Like A Girl” in which she shows the world how she rides the world's biggest waves and reef breaks.

The other movie in the series is going to be a documentary about her life from a more personal standpoint. She's going to tell us her story from her pre-shark attack days to the life of the pro she lives today. By creating “Surf Like A Girl,” she hopes to inspire and encourage girls to pick up surfing – or anything they are passionate about – and not give up. Bethany's determination, strength of will and love for sports will no doubt change the lives of many people. And I think I'll have to admit that I'm one of them. So, are you looking forward to “Surf Like A Girl?” Let us know in the comments below.
