Did you know that there are all sorts of laws all around the world to keep our furry friends in line? It's no longer just you and me that have to abide by the law. Animal laws mushrooming around the world to regulate pet behavior. Some of these laws can be fairly reasonable and seem to only back up common sense. However, some be downright ridiculous. Check out Helpucover's infographic below this post listing 40 of the world's most eccentric animal laws.

I don't know about you but my favorite law by far has to be the one from Paulding County Ohio that says that a police officer can bite a dog to calm them down. I mean this is funny in so many ways I don't even know where to start. I hope the day never comes when a police officer will have to resort to his teeth as his only means of calming a dog down. Unless of course we want to give the poor puppy a fair chance to defend itself. At any rate, this law just can't be serious, it makes absolutely no sense at all.

As you might have guessed, these laws are rarely enforced. I mean for example, Ohio has a law against getting a fish drunk. I have no idea if that's even possible or if anybody has ever tried that. I can't really think of a way to make sure that people aren't secretly sharing a glass of beer with their goldfish down in their basement, either. Can you?

Did you know that it's against the law to give whiskey or lighted cigar to a dog in Illinois? But I'm sure that you don't need a police officer to tell you that. I hope you enjoyed reading today's post as much as I enjoyed writing it. If so, follow us on Facebook and Twitter and tell us what you think about these insane pet laws in the comments below.
